Default personal loans for people with bad credit

I'm trying to find a company that will give me a small loan ($1500-$3000) to get caught up on some bills and all I can find is pay day loans. Been there - done that and don't want to go that route again!! Any ideas?

It's a wise decision not to go to the pdl route again. It's no good.

You have another alternative in paying the existing debts without taking a new loan. Try a debt management program. You need to sit with a debt counselor and discuss about your repayment options. He will be able to set up a plan with your creditors at lower interest rates. What kind of debts do you have?

Onelamb is right..maybe consolidation would be a better fit for you at this point.
I don't know how poor your credit is, but this board is full of people who have been scammed by "bad credit loans". While I'm sure there are some legitimate lenders out there who will lend to people with poor credit, you would still have to deal with an astronomical interest rate, which could make your payments really difficult to handle.
Start by making a list of the debts that you have right now. A counselor will call you in a few days. ASk them any questions you have, they can explain consolidation and point out reputable companies. You aren't under any obligation. One thing, though..Please check any company you plan to use with the better business bureau. Good luck!

Default loans

Usually 'lenders' that will deal with 'bad credit loans' ask for an 'upfront fee'. ALOT of people fall for this, because they are SOOO desperate to get a loan. PDL's are just as bad...you will take a 'lifetime' paying them back.

Shaney- those people are definitely scammers. It is called the "advance loan fee scam". All these people would do is steal your $1500 and never give you anything. It all comes down to common sense, really, if you stop and think about it. If someone is so desperate for money, would they even have the $1500 in the first place? Sadly, many, many people have fallen victim to this scam and lost their money- I almost did, too, and got as far as the Moneygram place to wire the money to Canada and filled out the slip, when the lady at the counter stopped me and explained that this was a scam that was very common, and that her place of employment had educated their employees on how their services were being abused for this scam.

I am so very thankful she stopped me, otherwise, I would have been out $600 that I BORROWED FROM PAYDAY LENDERS and been in even worse shape. Sadly, many people have forked over even more than that, and been left off in worse positions.

We tried every route out there. We even paid for this website that GUARANTEED that you'd be approved...we weren't. We did end up getting our money back, but it took a couple of weeks. I don't honestly think that there is anyone that is willing to lend money to people with poor credit. And I have to ask myself, if I had the money, given people's credit history, would I take the risk to loan to them? Probably not...

I strongly suggest you look into consumer credit counseling. Its the next best thing. The whole point of getting a loan is to consolidate you bills into one payment with a lower interest rate right ? Credit Counseling can get you set up on a debt management Plan that does that. Your interest rates will be much lower " usually 6-10 % and you will make one payment. Besides borrowing money usually doesn`t help anyways because in most cases you would just be robbing Peter to pay Paul. I hope this helps.

Minimum requirements for personal loans with bad credit include the fact that a borrower must be at least 18 years of age and a US resident. In addition, many so-called payday personal loans demand that borrowers make at least $1000 per month and maintain active checking accounts at reputable banks.

Finally, the presence of so-called outstanding bad credit personal loans may impede the approval process. Not all lenders are similarly scrupulous. Some bad credit personal loans require zero documentation of income viability. These arrangements are called “faxless” bad credit personal loans, and they typically require very little approval time

Default Loans

I feel your pain. Finding a loan these days are slim to none. Yes I made pass mistakes but I have changed. I have a good job now, but trying to recover from past mistakes is killing me. I feel lenders should be mindful of that. When we are young we don't think. We should be allowed another chance.

Have you tried borrowing from your bank? Some banks ad credit unions offer small loans up starting at $1500.

Please try and avoid payday loans or installment loans if possible. They can cost you more than you bargain for.

Try Prosper. They are a very unique website that has regular people loaning money. It sometimes take a while to get funded but it does work.
