My name is Rick and I need financial assistance. I was layed off from my job back in Noveember. Just before April fool's day I found a new job. But most of my savings has been drained. This new job started out Almost 40/hrs a week, But the company I'm working for started cutting hours. Now I can't pay my rent. It's either I can't pay my bills or my rent. My church has benevolence but I used it up. Sincerely Rick

Hi Rick,

What kind of debts do you have? See if you can find another job that pays better; because this one isn't helping you financially?

Yes, it will be wise to find another job that pays better or has more hours, but in the meantime, if you have credit card debt, etc, sign up on this site to have a consultant give you a call and maybe they can help you work out payment arrangements with your creditors. There are also some sample letters available that you could send yourself explaining your hardship and offering small payments until you can get back on your feet. The smart thing to do will be to make contact with your creditors, in writing, to make them aware of your situation and work out an acceptable payment plan before they turn things over to CAs.
