So, i am young.. only 21. And i am in so much financial debt its awfull. My parents know nothing about it and i have nobody to help me or give me advice! I want to fix my credit and make payments on things but i dont know where to begin. I have past due balances and closed accounts that have been sent to collections. I even have bank accounts that went negative and i couldnt pay all the overdraft fees so they closed it. AHH. I am so overwhelmed and just need help! Please help refer me to someone or something!!!

Welcome to the Community  Take a deep breath!! You may have to swallow your pride, I had to ,and tell your parents.
If you can tell us what type of debt you have
The names of the companies you ae dealing with
What state you are in
And if you have taken care of the overdrafts at the bank.
You may want to start with your bank and see if you can get that taken care of with payments to get them off your back- they send overdrafts in my state to an attorney, and tend to go to court.
You are entitled to a free credit counseling, have all your debts laid out, and to whom, so they will know how to help, and feel free to ask us questions. There is hope-it takes time and hard work, but it can be done.
If you haven't pulled your credit reports from all 3 agencies, it might be a good place to start..Good Luck-keep us posted..KAren

Good luck and do follow bossy's advice,. They have been on here for along time and knows alot about this kind of information.

Hello crystalmead, welcome!
First of all, dont worry about a thing. You do have a job, right? If yes, you're good. If no, grab a newspaper & go visit craigslist. Get a job.
Your second step is to open up excel and write down all your creditors, what you owe them, what are your monthly payments, what are your APRs, fees etc. If you need to call them to get the info, do so, They are all 24/7
And your third step is to call the number on the right handside of this screen!
