how do I find a legit debt settlement company

Check with state and local officials, although BBB rating is a good indicator I normally do not place too much weight on it. State banking divisions which regulate debt consolidation and debt relief companies is the best place to start.

Also, read posts on this forum and see which ones people are happy with. Do internet searches of any that you are considering. Check the BBB to see if there are complaints and what the complaints are.

Do plenty of research. Read and ask as much as you possible can. There are some good companies but there are more terrible companies. Search on the internet and on this site. You will find a ton of information here.
