Of course bills.com says good things about them: Freedom owns bills.com!

Additionally, how can people point to TASC or USOBA as proof that companies are valid? Did you guys not realize that they were created by debt settlement companies to look legit? Look at their boards of directors: guys from freedom, guys from debt settlement america, etc.

If the pitch is really that debt settlement companies have a special relationship with creditors and can negotiate better than you or a lawyer you hired directly can, it is pretty clear that is marketing BS.

HOLY CRAP Gordo YOU ARE SO RIGHT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! HOW could I have missed that!!!!!!!!!!!! The board members of the TASC all have shady companies that are listed as SCAMS all over the net in some shape or form. THE TASC WAS CREATED BY debt settlement COMPANIES TO POLICE THEMSELVES, SO THEY SAY, BUT IT IS ANOTHER SCAM TO FOOL US INTO THINKING THAT THEY ARE LEGIT AND THIS IS THE PROOF. I feel so stupid for overlooking the obvious. THANKS bro, that's VERY damaging evidence to support what I've been saying for awhile. CAN'T DENY THE FACTS ON THIS ONE PEOPLE.

Although I know some will try. WAKE UP

This is a warning--what ever you do 'DO NOT' sign on with
Freedom debt relief it is a major scam. I just recently
dropped my contact with them after 2 years after
absolutely no satisfactory success whatsoever. I was
making $500.00 /month payments to them to handle
3 accounts of mine. They settled 1 account for
$200.00 more than the final bill was at the time
that I turned over the account to them. I had $4,150.00
in my account at the time of settlement that is
$4,800.00 less than I had paid them. $4,800.00 was
what they pocketed to do absolutely nothing. What
I found out from my bankruptcy attorney was that
I could have accomplished more by doing this
negotiation process myself and it would not have cost
me a dime. After they settled this account and my
bank account was empty, I then had to contend with
lawsuits from the other accounts I still owed from
and with no money to negotiate with I was backed up
against a wall. Therefore, my only choice was
bankruptcy which is what I am in the process of now.
I should have saved myself the stress that I went through
these past 2 1/2 years and either handled it myself
or filed bankruptcy then. This company tells you everything
that you wantto hear so you sign on the dotted line.
Not only can I tell you of my experience but also my
brothers. He signed up when I did. He has been sued
one time and with a judgement against him for $1200.00
FDR could not even settle this small amount of an account.
My brother now has a judgement and was served
with another summons 2 days ago for another account.
FDR says that there is nothing that they can do because
he has no other funds in his account to negotiate with
so, he too is backed against the wall just like I was.
So, he too is going to my bankruptcy lawyer to do what
he should have done sooner. I am contacting the BBB
to file a complaint regarding this company and I recommend
that anyone even thinking about this company as a
solution to your problems will be sorely disappointed.
They are working for the All American Dollar and not
for the person that they are taking the dollars from. [/u][/b]

I think very highly of my experience as a customer. I've had nothing but good things happen, for the first time since I had this debt problem.

They call me just about every month to say hello and make sure all is well, I get the opportunity to accept each settlement and I feel like at last someone is solving this problem for me.

I want to say that they are good and I have a good review.

I would be leary to go with a debt settlement that hires pushy sales people, this company hires commissioned sales reps. See ad on career builders. They also have many upset consumers that have posts on the rip off report. To top it off the AG in california issued a cease and desist to freedom debt for violating the law. I would do more research with other firms in this industry.

This complaining info is garbage. I'd recommend you call FDR and see what you think. They treated me with respect and are going above and beyond what I expected. I would choose them again. and I have recommended them.

I know you won't remember me but you saved my life.
I have been in the program for a little over a year and have seen 2 of my 5 debts resolved. I still have a way to go and the monthly program draft is a challenge for me to do but I can sleep at night and I am not terrified to answer my phone or check the mail.

I am on my way to be debt free and have determined that I will continue putting aside the $810 per month after I finish the program so there will be savings there to really start living again.

I just wanted to say thank you for holding my hand at the beginning of the journey.
Have a wonderful day, Mark C.

Well I'm glad I found this site. I was thinking of going with FDR but am really not feeling it anymore. I have about 20k in debt and just want an easier solution. What do you all think of loan through my personal bank? Basically like a debt consolidated loan? I would feel a lot better going through them... I called them today and I was approved... I would save about $250-300 a month with an interest rate of 10.24. I really think I would like to go ahead with this instead of FDR... I have a feeling they are going to be harassing me for a while now since I called them yesterday. Oye!

JC that is a good idea. If you were already approved to cover all your debt then that's good. Now you can start from zero again. This time though don't fall behind. That's great. WOW that's a very nice bank. Gave you a 20k loan with bad credit WOW. Let us know the name of that bank so the rest of us can run and open up accounts with them.....LOL.

I have fairly good credit though. My score is 711. Never had a late payment, never been delinquent. Just don't want to keep paying minimum payments and I'd like to have this all paid off a lot faster. Thanks though! I went through my credit union.
