Freedom debt relief is a debt settlement company . I assume you meant debt settlement program .The likely reason they are telling this is because if you keep deferring payments or lowering them you won't be doing the program aggressively enough to get good results. Thus you are only setting your self up for a lawsuit with your creditors.

the issue with settlement is that you have to make a serious committment or it doesnt work. as mobile said you will set yourself up for lawsuit, and most settlement companies can assure the creditors that your account is accumulating every month it keeps them patient, if your not adding into your funds if they reach a agreement you wont be able to pay it. you will either need to commit to the program or file bk.
