oh I just found this site looking up to see if credit card company's can garnish wages and put lien on home ? thank you for answers!!! I just got done scrambling around today to not get the threat of a lien put on my house. they wanted the 12,000$ now and by the hour it was so devestating. but they got what they wanted

A creditor can take you to court and obtain a judgement, which could then lead to garnishment of your wages, provided the judge does not see fit to set up a payment plan for you to repay the debt to the creditor.
Creditors are not evil - they are, by definition, someone who lends you money or provides a service in return for payment - what makes people think they are evil are the practices employed by some collection agencies in an attempt to obtain their money.
