Well here I am two and a half years later and thanks to your forum, I have survived my horrible payday loan situation. No, I didn't go to jail, I wasn't served a summons and I didn't have any of my wages garnished...all of which were threats. I'd like to say thank you to everyone here for their advice and help. I am not sure my nerves could have survived without your help.
Now I am working on getting another chapter of my life in order. My credit card debt. While not a lot of money is owed, still it is money that I can not afford to pay at the moment.
I have approximately 3 credit cards with balances of $530, $325 and $465. All of which are with capital one. Each of these cards has been charged off (according to my credit report). Two of the accounts were turned over to an outside collection agency, although it's been several months since I've head a word or received ANY correspondence from them. The other account is still being handled internally with Captial One's hardship, collections area.
I guess I should mention all of my accounts were in the hardship area, prior to charge off.
I want to settle these debts, however, Captial One hasn't appeared very interested in doing so, as the settlement offers seem to be minimal, at best.
Any advice?
