Is this a good company and what to expect?

I've been contacted by superior debt services via my consultation on this forum.

I've repeatedly emailed asking questions about what to expect and how this will be handled if I sign for their settlement agreement, but can't get any answers in writing. This makes me wary of using their services.

Can someone vouch for them and their commitment to their clients and contract?

Also, can someone tell me what EXACTLY happens when you settle with a CC company?

Do they harass you constantly?

How much mail volume can I expect to get from them?

How many phone calls (considering they already call about 6 times per day)?

What's the likelihood of them suing, since I'm only 1 month in arrears?

Since superior debt services doesn't retain legal representation, how are these things handled by them if they happen?

thanks

Many people here have signed up with Superior debt relief. Hang in here! Someone will read your queries and tell you about the company.

It is your right to know about the procedure of the settlement program and the company needs to keep you updated of the negotiations done with the creditors. You may ask them if they have dealt with your creditors in the past.

Read all the terms before signing the contract. You should know everything clearly with proper documentation in case if anything goes wrong and you need to dispute

I think the calls should stop eventually. My consolidation company told me that some will stop calling as soon as they get a proposal but some will keep calling until they get paid. Call the company you are with & ask them about the calls.

In regards to legal counsel, the company I'm with stated in my contract that they will not defend me & its up to me to get legal representation. That's why I'm saving all of my payments (sending in money order) & mailing receipts (sending payments next day air) as well as filed my contract away in a safe spot in case something happens.

Please listen to LeeLee. Make sure you keep all of your documentation and have a paper trail leading to all of your payments in the event that something happens. Most of all, if you are unhappy with the company's conduct then consider switching. Remember, you are paying them for a service and if they aren't living up to what you feel they should live up to then moving on to a different company would be your best option. You have to be happy and feel confident with any money that you are trusting to handle such an important matter. Be sure to check out any company you plan to hire with the BBB before giving them any money. Good luck. Smile

Was tempted to use debt consolidation, but didn't, there are alot of folks on here that have and can guide you through the process. Hang in there.

Is this debt consolidation or settlement? It is 2 diff things! If u dont' feel comfortable go with ur gut, it's usually right... I think the least they can do is answer ur emails back!
There are MANY companies out there that are legit and will speak to u about ur concerns.
Hang in there and keep looking,
Ang
P.S. Hopefully someone who knows them will be along shortly to help u out.

I wish I could help more, but I've never dealt with settlement-just consolidation.

When I agreed to do business with my CC company (Ameri-debt at the time) the collection calls stopped completely. I was assigned one counselor and he explained to me what i can expect while in the program and he was right. I never had an issue with them though like LeeLee and Eleroo said, I kept docs on everything i could as far as payments and such. I had 6 credit accounts with Ameridebt and I even had the option of calling my counselor up and saying 'hey i have the money to pay of my Walmart account completely' and he accommodated me and they sent me monthly statements in the mail that detailed i did in fact pay my walmart account off. So, if it is a reputable company (i'm not sure about the one you're asking about) they will work with you every which way possible to cut down your debt. good luck, I found that non profits are a good way to go with credit counseling
