What happens or what does it mean if they don't have a license in Florida?

Hi,
I know all businesses have to be listed with the Dept. of Corp. in the state and get a valid license before doing business. You may also find useful information with your local attorney general's office.
BTW, which business are you inquiring about?

Cashnet500, I have read complaint after complaint about this company. I also found out that "rollovers or extensions violate Florida's usury and/or consumer finance act. But I wonder if that only applies to a company with a license to do business in Florida. So far I haven't been able to find a license in FL for this company.

I didn't find CashNet500 to be licensed in FL. You can also check it out here
http://www.flofr.com/licensing/Download/mtlist1.zip
Now that you know CashNet500 is not licensed in FL, they are violating the laws here and you must report them to your state regulator.
Regulator: Florida Office of Financial Regulation
Address: Division of Securities and Finance, 200 E. Gaines Street Tallahassee, FL 32399
Phone: (850) 410-9805
Fax: (850) 410-9748

You are only liable to pay back the principal amount to the company and forget about them.

ok, here is what I'm thinking of doing, sending them a email & letter stating the following...
I have paid $505 on a $350 loan considering you do not have a license in the sate of Florida I am considering this loan PAID IN FULL. I am also revoking any and all wage assignments.
I am reporting you to the Florida State Regulator because you are violating the laws here.
I trust there will be no more calls to my place of employment, as I have repeatedly verbally and in writing requested those to cease.

Sounds good because you are aware about the laws and knowing the fact that the company is charging more on the loan, they need to back off because they are doing illegal business in your state. Send your letter through certified mail and return receipt requested. This will leave proof of your actions.

Ok, I sent that email and immediately got a call....I don't think he read it right because he started laughing saying that he has a licence in Delaware and that I have one in Florida doesn't mean anything. However he told me that the contract states I would have to pay fees on the loan so the fact that I paid over the principal doesn't mean anyting..he'll see me in court! Then in regards to the not calling me at work...he said he would call me wherever necessary to collected what they feel is owed. He didn't call me at work though, this time he used my cell...which he first claimed he didn't have.
What now?

Keep sending that e-mail and do it all day long if you have to. File a complaint with the Floriday Attorney General's office and tell them in your letter you have done this.
He is full of crap and playing games with you, just laugh back at him because he is a fool. You have overpaid this loan and keep demanding they pay you in full. This payday company isn't licensed in Florida and they wouldn't take you to court over this matter because they would get into trouble for operating without a license.

Ok, this is crazy...I have now received an email form someone at payday-loan-yes.com & they could possibly also DBA as Global payday loan. What if those are licensed in FL? I went to the website you provided but I can't find anything.
Thanks for all your help!
