Default Mann Bracken LLP calling me to pay back a debt. What to do?

Is Mann Bracken llc a collection agency within a law firm? The lady that called me was telling me that a law suit is going to be filed the end of May and gave me three options to pay. I owe the debt and I would like to pay it, I would much prefer to pay Citibank directly. Can this firm really sue me or are they suing in behalf of Citibank?

According to the better business bureau's records, mann bracken llc
are listed as a collection agency/lawyers. Please send the letter in my signature certified return receipt to preserve your rights under federal law. On the question of can they sue,it would depend on if they have the standing required to file.To explain that, they would require permission from owner of account or a valid assignment giving them that right to be able to sue. You can call Citi and see if you can get account pulled back to original holder.

The collectors will call before suit is filed. The lawyers will not contact you generally unless suit is filed. Protect yourself, mann bracken llc are known to violate collection laws.

Default debt verification letter to mann bracken llc?

Thank you very much to the both of you! By the way, I have not received the letter from Mann Bracken LLC yet to where I have 30 days to respond to the validity of the debt owed. Should I still send them my debt verification letter?

Thanks,

bebeisis

Yes, and be careful to use the word "Validation" as opposed to verification.

Default Citibank has filed suit???

I received 6 letters today from attorneys stating that Citibank has filed suit against us. Mann Bracken LLP has our file and I called to get an update and I was told that on July 13 they sent a letter to us responding to my "validation" letter. She made no mention of a suit being filed. What is going to happen next?

I have had this Mann Bracken LLc on me for about a year. I requested a written verification and have never gotten it. I send them $50 a month and they have cleared every check. I guess this is their way of accepting my payment. What should I do about not getting the letter?

Guest, I wouldn't be sending them a cent until the debt has been VALIDATED! How can you be sure they are applying the payments to your debt?

I would call them and ask them what your balance is currently. When did you send the DV, recently or when you set up payments?

My mother was served a summons as well regarding a debt with Dell. The figure on the summons was $1681.00. After speaking to a representative from Mann Bracken the figure went up to $1861.00. No explanation at all.

These Attorneys are notorious for jacking the price up at a moments notice. They play dirty pool so beware of them. Tell your mother to MAKE them validate that debt before she gives them a dime!

Be sure that she responds to the summons or they will be awarded a judgement by the court. Ask for validation at the court hearing. More than likely, they can't furnish it and the case will be dismissed.

they are liars and cheats and claim they are lawyers that are speaking to you. I had one make that claim then say he was a paralegal then state he was working for a paralegal law firm, inferring that he was not one himself. they don't work with you. they rip you off. they claim over and over again that they will bring you to court immediately. they do not have the pull and authority they claim. go back to your previous agaency that you owe money to to circumvent them.

Default Mann Bracken LLP a Ripoff

I do agree they are liars and they do claim they are lawyers when they are only debt collectors. They cheat you and rip you off, they do not go by your terms and conditions they want you to go by theirs! Do not believe a word they tell you because they had threatened to take me to court immediately as well. If I were you I would contact a lawyer to work on your behalf.

YES!! Just because it has been charged off by the OC doesn't mean that the debt will not be collected, either by a CA or a JDB.
