Yes, there are some good companies out there you just have to weed them out amungst the scams! sad but true. I have a list of ten questions you should ask a settlement company before going with them on my blog you may want to check them out.
second thing is are they a member of bbb? check out that site and make sure that complaints are resolved. It is normal to have complaints but make sure they are resolved. check there rating
3rd are they a member of tasc? This site requires them to follow certain guidelines. you can check out the tasc and what they do for you as a customer of settlement at thier website. just google tasc and i believe its the first selection. Not all good companies are members but they should be. If you find a company thats a member of both the bbb and tasc, its a good start but dont stop there.
google is your friend. research the company over and over with different questions like "should i use x company?" or stay away from x company or x company is a scam.
and last of all you came to the right place. Search around see what others are saying about x companies. you will get the feel of some of them and know if they are right for you or not. No one is going to flat out tell you who they are using becuase they are not allowed to promote and if they do, then they most likely work for that company.
take postings by guests with a grain of salt. Sadly this is a great forum but many companies use it for advertising.
good luck in your searches and if you have any more questions feel free to post again!
