My husband's ex-wife sent him papers that had been served to her apartment from midland credit management saying they were going for a judgement on an old Fingerhut account. It is to him, but has her address. He has never gotten anything from them, and has never lived at that address. What can we do about this?

Be sure to show up to court at the time and date on the summons, otherwise a default judgement will be entered against you. It is much harder to fight at that point.
You can try calling fingerhut and see if you can set up payment arrangements with them directly.

Review everything they send you. Request validation of the debt before you tell them he never lived at the address they have on file. I have a client who did, and MCM created fraudulent documents showing an address where she did not live (no house even built at the date on the statement). Lawsuit in progress.
