I am in the trap of PDL's. I put a stop payment on 4 of them to be able to make my house payment. Now they are trying to contact me. What course of action should I take. I am not looking to get out of paying them, although I would consider bankruptcy if they will not work with me.

Here is the link to look up your state's pdl laws:
http://www.paydayloaninfo.org/

Are these internet or storefront pdls and what state are you in?

The online ones are the problem. I'm in Missouri.

MO's pdl laws do suck. How many times have these loans rolled over? You might want to check and see if they are licensed in your state, that site gives a link to your state's link to look up licenses.

Sometimes, it's hard to stop the lender's call because they are not getting paid. But if you explain them your problems and will do the payments later, they may offer some extensions. I will recommend, you should talk to them one time.

Internet loan companies mostly violate the laws. Verify the charges with your state laws to confirm their fair business. Once you find everything in order, request for an extension

I looked up the licensees for Missouri. I didn't see any of the internet companies that I've dealt with. What does that mean?

This means that the companies you have loans with are not licensed to do business in your state. However, call the dept. of financial institutions of your state for the updated info.

When you know a company is not licensed in your state, you have more powers than them. Report the legal places that the pdl's are doing business in the state without a license and charge excessive fees.

Calculate the total loan amount fixed in your state and make payments to the lender. Get the account closed after you have paid them.
