Between settlement and BKO? If you go BKO, do you have more control over the settlment amount?

Hi AniPlastic (love the name) and welcome to the site. By BKO do you mean Bankruptcy? I did a chapter 7 and 13 some years ago and my attorney did negotiate my debt with my creditors and lowered the amount owed. That was then, but Im sure they still do that. Please check back today and someone with more infomaiton on your question will be more helpful. Thank you.

I am not sure what you mean by BKO, if it is bankruptcy, there is a big difference between that and debt settlement. Debt settlement is done through a third party and does not require court action where bankruptcy does.

The bankrupcy laws have changed so much. You should really do some research before you decide to file.
