does anyone know if a phone company can make a copy of a message left on a answering machine. my answering service is through the phone company Kevin Peterson left a really nasty message on there calling me a smartie pants and telling me just wait til the police pick me up jenny dawson is from the same office cause it comes up the same number...

You should contact the phone company and ask them but if you have voicemail, Make sure you save it! You may have to find a way to record it yourself. Whatever you do, keep that voicemail and file a complaint with your attorney general!

Make sure that you know who is placing the call - namely which collection agency. If you do not, you might consider moving quickly. Phone companies and the police can trace calls for 14 days with a subpoena, after that you may have a hard time finding out the true identity of this abusive collector. You might be able to find an attorney to represent you on a contingent basis (no cost to you) through the national association of consumer advocates.

this is the second time this week that this Kevin Peterson has popped up on this forum. There are other threads about him but nobody knows who he works for. If they don't know who he works for how do they know who wants the money. He must be a moron.
