i agreed to settle a debt with nes, however they made me very mad. they said payment by electronic check was scheduled for friday, they never took the money. this collection dosen't even appear on my credit report and its been 2 years. bottom line is i stopped payment on the check today. what repercusions could there be?

Never ever give your bank information to ANYone on the telephone, they could be anyone claiming they are a collection agency, or whatever. Always insist they send you written proof of an alleged debt USPS.
