Can't make offer due date
Talked to Chase about a 30% settlement. They put in an exception and said I would hear back. Got a letter in the mail on Nov. 2. The letter was dated Nov. 28 and they had accepted the 30%, but the payment was due 10/30! I got the notice after the payment was due! There is a 10 day grace period, but I am not able to get the money quite that fast. I talked to them and they asked if the person I had dealt with asked if I had the money available immediately. I said they never asked that and we never discussed when payments would be due etc. I assumed I would have 30 days or so.
In any case, do you think I will be able to get this deal again? We are also trying to get other accts. settled for 30% or we may do BK because that is all the cash we have access to. So, getting the money and getting the creditors to all agree around the same time is diffucult. |

Ask them if you can make a partial payment. 30% settlement sounds good to me and it's hard to predict what they would do next. Can you loan the money from family or your employment?
