Default Can't make offer due date

Talked to Chase about a 30% settlement. They put in an exception and said I would hear back. Got a letter in the mail on Nov. 2. The letter was dated Nov. 28 and they had accepted the 30%, but the payment was due 10/30! I got the notice after the payment was due! There is a 10 day grace period, but I am not able to get the money quite that fast. I talked to them and they asked if the person I had dealt with asked if I had the money available immediately. I said they never asked that and we never discussed when payments would be due etc. I assumed I would have 30 days or so.

In any case, do you think I will be able to get this deal again? We are also trying to get other accts. settled for 30% or we may do BK because that is all the cash we have access to. So, getting the money and getting the creditors to all agree around the same time is diffucult.

Ask them if you can make a partial payment. 30% settlement sounds good to me and it's hard to predict what they would do next. Can you loan the money from family or your employment?
