Who is this Edward Jones, with the number: 866-679-4046? I get that it's Rio Resources? Now, I've filed complaints with the WI DFI. Do I need to send a cease and desist? I have overpaid them quite a bit of money.

They also said that they contacted my dad, my boyfriend, and my employer. I talked to all of them, and they all said they didn't get any calls. What the smack is up with that?

Yes send that letter. They will turn you over to a collection agency real fast. So get a validation letter ready also for when they do. In this validation letter be sure you tell the collector that complaints were filed and if they continue to collect they will be added to the comlpaints. File a complaint with the FTC against them also. I did. The CA won't mess with a debt if there are strings tied to them as a rule. The more complaints that are filed the more we can stop these crooks.

It seems to me that they are just being a royal pain in the behind and are trying to use whatever they can to get you to pay more money. Make sure you keep a copy of this letter in case they continue to harrass you. Keep hanging in there....everything will eventually calm down. The phone calls and threats are the worse part when it comes to getting these people out of your hair.

Okay, well I have my letters ready and I'm going to send them out tonight. I also filed a compliant against them on the FTC website. I am waiting to hear from my state DFI.

So, this company tried to call my office again this morning, and I hung up on them. I sent my cease and desist letter to them, as well as to ARM. I filed compliants against them with the BBB and with the FTC. I also updated my DFI agent. I have overpaid them according to my state laws, correct? And, because they have been ordered by the state AG of OK to stop lending, I have a valid argument, yes? I just do not want to go to court over this bs!

say the following:

Quote:
You are not allowed to contact me via phone at my place of business of home. You are not allowed to contact any of my family or friends via phone. Any communication you have must be made be mail. Note this date and time: (say the actual date & time) and then hangup. If you have caller id, keep hanging up. Make sure in any communication you have, you state in writing that they are NOT allowed to call you.
I got this info from a former bankruptcy lawyer. It is suppose to help even if you are NOT filing bankruptcy.

Good luck
