Has anyone from WI entered into a settlement program recently? I went through this website and they assigned me to a company that doesn't even take WI clients. Then I was told to go the the ranking chart and pick one. All the feedback is 2-3 years old. I contacted sifxpert but don't have enought debt ($20K) to work with James. I am 3-4 months behind on everything, including PDL's.

Since you live in Wisconsin, you may be eligible for a Chapter 128 plan. It's kind of like a bankruptcy in that bill collectors stop calling and you can prevent utility shut off and wage garnishments. You still have to pay back your debts but you do it through a trustee. Chapter 128 is exclusively for Wisconsin residents. I am not sure how it affects your credit as I am not a Wisconsin resident. Just google Chapter 128 and you should be able to find out more about it. I do know that they accept secured as well as unsecured (PDL) debt though.
