Well, I've tried calling FDR all morning, and their phone is not being answered. Today I received yet another letter from an attorney demanding payment. This is the THIRD account I signed to FDR that has resulted in my being subpoenaed, have my checking account frozen, wages garnished, and all of the other horrors for which I signed with them in order to avoid!!!!!! So, MR STRO, WHAT IS YOUR CONTACT INFO??-
I got my war-crippled husband who has to live in a nursing home to sign with you. You and I need to talk!

I was enrolled in Freedom Debt Relief Company and have since got out of this messy tangled web of bad advise lack luster customer service and absolutely terrible follow up procedures. I thankfully received a refund from them and had to sign a waiver that I would not file a claim with the BBB. But I can post my dealings with them here. If your thinking about going into this company to help you STOP right now. Call your creditors yourself!!! All Freedom will do is delay you and your creditors to the point where you'll end up being sued and taken to court like I was. Yep thanks Freedom. I was lied to from the start from freedom debt relief and said will settle for less than you could. NOPE I settled my own for less than they ever did. It takes months really years for them to collect enough to pay you cards anyway because they get paid first. YES you pay them first. So while the calls keep coming and the letters keep coming and your credit takes a knock out punch thanks to their advise you lose even more than when you started. For example I owed 4,600 and by the time I woke up with all the late fees and this and thats it was now 9,700 within less than a years time. They could not get this number down that's right they said they could not because the creditor was a tough one. They told me I had to go to court and thats when I said enough of this crap. I ended up settling this account myself for exactly what I owed them when I stopped using the card. Fair is Fair I paid them in full 4,600 that I tucked away with my sales bonus checks my wifes hard work and ebay sales. I did this tuck away plan and talked with my creditors personally. I made plans with them and kept my word. I settled two more cards for 1/2 of what they wanted. I always paid them what I actually spent. I think that's a good rule. See what your balance was when you stopped and plan to pay that. You can set up monthly payments and or settlements. Freedom Debt never got any of my creditors to stop calling like they said they would. I kept getting letters every day it seemed and phone calls after phone calls for months. Freedom did nothing for me here. They paid off one small account in a years time and it was for the full amount they wanted and it was more than what I actually spent. That was the worst deal out of my bunch and it was the so called professionals who settled it for me. Thanks again Freedom. I recently paid my last credit card off and now I have no credit card debt. That's right folks. Now I did receive help from my folks but mainly my wife and I with kids and a house tucked away each month from what we earned. I would take 10 bucks a day and stuff it away. That 10 bucks was what I would spend on coffee a energy drink a little lunch and so on and on...Now think about how much that one little move can produce. 10 x 30 days say a month is what yeah 300 bucks!!! I did this for a year and that was just part of what we did to knock off our debt. Look you can do this by yourself with out Freedom Debt Relief...Hey if you want to go this route than go to a non profit place OK that's the only legit relief help you'll every get. Freedom Debt did not cause my problem and they did not cause yours so remember that. We need to change are spending habits. Now some of us got here by medical bills losing jobs ect...YES out of our hands but all we can do is our best and make better money decisions. I never want to get back in the credit card game again and now that I'm credit card debt free I can tell you living within your means is the only way to go. NO MORE buy and pay later NO MORE credit cards taking my actual FREEDOM away. I learned Freedom is truly being debt free and Freedom Debt Relief will only delay that FREEDOM for you and anyone else who gets in that messy web that company calls relief. Peace to everyone and I truly pray for everyone right now with this debt over their heads. Look it's only money LIVE your life during this process be as positive as possible and give your time to your children your partners your community yourself during this ordeal. Give back and it will come back in so many ways. Live your dreams be your dreams and live honest and hard working lives. Thats the best advise I have. Don't stop saving Don't stop living and don't hide any more get going get out of this debt slowly or fast and don't forget were not bad folks here we just have debt that's all. You can do this you can!!!
Peace
Freedom for all

I am needing credit relief at this very moment but I called FDR and felt so pressured, the guy that I spoke with actually harassed me with phone calls trying to get me to sign up, he was so aggressived that I was scared to sign up and just quit answering his calls, it took 3 weeks for him to stop calling

I wouldn't sign up with any person or company that was that aggressive. Sounds like a used car salesman.

I have worked at FDR in customer service for about 6 months and we speak to thousands of clients a week. We hear a lot of positive feedback from clients regarding our services and settlements. I apologize if you were unhappy with your service, we strive to provide outstanding service to all of our clients.

Yes - Why should a company get paid for working ??? thats just stupid. The REASON that debt settlement companies charge their fees ahead of time is otherwise people would just let them settle their debt and then not pay for the service. I have been enrolled in a debt settlement program for a year now , and we have had half our accounts settled. It works if you go with a trusted company and not just some scam company. We went with Clear One Advantage and have not had ANY problems. I wish you all the best.

We work hard for our clients. Always did, and always will. Call me directly if you have questions.

You may be a Founder, but a Founder of what?
At Stanford did you and your co-founder work up this scheme?
My next door neighbor used your service, and you took over $10,000 and didn't pay one creditor. This destroyed his credit even worse than it was. You are trying to legitimize yourselves as helping people in distress with their creditors. You are nothing more than an organization draining every dollar in fees from your enrollees to make a better life for yourself, and most certainly at their expense.

I would blatantly rename your business, " Dewey, Cheetam, and Steele"

I work for FDR in the customer service department and this is not a typical result. FDR has served over 75,000 clients with over 60,243 account resolutions in 2009 alone. I would suggest if your neighbor doesn’t feel he was serviced properly he should contact FDR’s customer service department directly at 1800-655-6303.

Can you please provide the name of your neighbor so we can follow up with them. The reason I ask, is that sometimes our competitors will post dishonest complaints without providing any kind of information. We will be happy to contact your neighbor and rectify any issues they may have.

Kinda funny to watch the owners and employees of such "credible" places like FDR go back and forth with other companies on a message board like children. Kind of speaks to the professionalism of the company--no? Just a tip from a former FDR employee (got out after 3 weeks, if I wanted to join a cult then I would have found one), don't even think about giving them any of your money--it's all lies, lies, lies.
