i was foolish, i know. i took out a payday loan from this company to help pay a dental bill in june. i have since closed my checking account and intend on paying this loan. i sent these guys an email asking they NOT call me at work. since i do not get off of work until 5pm, i have no way of getting hold of a live person. their offices are closed. lol imagine that!

so i sent them a nice email asking for a mailing address and letting them know that i am willing to pay off the amount i borrowed $300 and their fee for renewing the loan $90. a few days went by and i got no response other than a "brandy" saying "call me." and attached an 800 #.

now i sent brandy, their collections department, etc. emails of my payment plan and still have no response. now today i check my email and it says:

Jolie, Rio Resources are a hard bunch to work with. I overpaid them by over a thousand dollars. Pollyandsay is the one that is totally up to date on the laws. Payday lending is not allowed in my state. You can always contact your attorney generals office they have been a blessing to me. Good Luck . Search this site for threads on Rio Resources. KYSIDE38

I have a loan with them as well that defaulted about 2 weeks ago and they called me at work and at home. Which I was busy at work to talk and I said I would call back. But like Jolie I get off at 4 cst which is difficult to get ahold of anyone. I have tried emailing letters to the company about the laws and faxed and havent heard a response back yet.

Kevytn, I have e-mailed and tried to send letter but it was returned. They told me on the phone they are in OK. now. Are you sure your in default what are your state laws. They will absolutely torment you over this phone call after phone call and will even speak to your boss. Call you AG in your state. Good Luck KYSIDE38. PM me if you need anything

Oops! I must have missed that. Well, I took out the loan $300 in May, paid their renewal fee of $90 in June, and I had planned on making payments of $100 per month for July, August, and September.
