I am in the worst possible situation. I not only have outstanding payday loans, I am currently paying my employer back an advance that I obtained to catch up on month to month bills (rent, car note, utilities). That is taking so much of my check I can barely afford daycare and I am behind again. Not to mention, that my credit was already in the toilet. I just can't cope anymore. I am about to lose my car, and have a court date for eviction ( I am only one month (oct) behind, but I am always late. I am lost, but with 5 kids, I better find my way soon. I can't get help from social services because of my income, they even go so far as charging an application fee for child support if your kids are not on medicaid. Now how is that for helpful. My gross is over the limit for foodstamps, but after all of my deductions and the paying back the payroll advance my check is less than 500. every two weeks. HELP!!!!!

I am sorry to hear about your problems. You need to exercise all your options before the lenders take actions against you. It's better to have realized this now before anything unexpected happens later. Take professional advice from a debt counselor. He will figure out how much you can afford each month and then negotiate with your lenders. It is also necessary to check if these lenders are charging what your state allows. Most lenders add on illegal charges on the loan and make it impossible to be paid. Your counselor will tell you about the legal fees in your state. If the total is more than the legal charges, it can be disputed and subtracted from the total. Still if you find it unmanageable to pay your debts, bankruptcy may be the last option to think about.

Welcome to the forums Very Happy Like ArDen said, look at all your options, there may be some solutions you haven't thought of. Try contacting your other helping agencies, like United Way, Neighbor for Neighbor, and sometimes local churches have funds for emergencies, and other necessities. Getting on some type of plan, whether it is consolidation, settlement, or bankruptcy will ease your mind, and I don't use bankruptcy lightly. Talk to your counselor, they will direct you in the right direction. If you have any questions, or need to talk, all of us are hee to walk you through it!...KAren

Hang in there, Stephanie. Things may look pretty dismal right now, but I promise you can dig your way out. The first step is to review your options. A debt counselor can help you do this and advise you of what would be the best option for you. Then take action. As soon as you do this, you'll start feeling better. Also, keep posting here and let us know how you progress. You can come here anytime if you have questions or just want to vent. There's always someone here to help.

Stephanie, life doesn't remain the same, always. There are good times and as well as bad. Keep your hopes alive and talk with everyone who can advice you. Most people including me are coming out of rough times and there is light at the end of the tunnel. The truth remains. Keep trying and you will achieve your goals.
