Storefront pdls employees are thieves

I just wanted to share with all of you; there is this one particular storefront pdl in my area that I'm making payments to on a past due pdl; to make a long story short; before I started making the payments, one of the employees had the nerve to call and tell me that if I didn't pay something on it, a warrant could be issued for my arrest; needless to say, when I went in there this past Friday, I had asked one of the employees where this one particular employee was, and they had told me she was fired for stealing money from them. They are in the process of prosecuting her. I just thought it took alot of nerve to threaten me with a warrant and the whole time, she had been stealing money.

That's bullsh#**t! And she even threatened you with a false threat. You can not and will not be prosecuted in OH for defaulting on a pdl even at a storefront. Hope she has fun where she is going, teach her to make false threats on somebody who is just trying to make good on a debt!

I don't know the whole story, but somehow, she was taking out loans in other people's names. I don't know if these people really exist or what, and then she would sign another employee's name on the contract to make it look like the other employee gave the loan out. This girl has been working there for a couple of years, so the assume it's been going on for a while. The corporate office did an audit one day and found the discrepancies.

Unbelievable! I just can not believe she had the nerve to give a false threat of arrest to you! Karma!

I agree with Steelers in that this person is going to get what she so definately deserves, but I really caution against saying all storefront PDL employees are thieves. Most are like us, in that they are working for peanuts trying to raise their families, pay rent, etc. The ones we have to go after are the owners of these companies.

I don't think they make much more than $7-8/hr. I know when I was calling them to find out laws etc... a few confessed to me that they were trapped in the pdl trap themselves and one girl even told me she had several internet pdls as well. That is sad, they are having to make the calls to collect when they themselves are in the same situation.

I didn't mean all storefront pdl employees( I'll rephrase that) some storefront pdl employees are thieves. It just made me mad that she threatened me and the whole time, she was stealing from the company Evil or Very Mad

She sounds like a total bad apple brownsugar, and I am glad she's going down the river! Steelers, that is so sad. I'll say it again: we need to go after the owners of these companies. You know they made more than $8 an hour!

Oh, I bet they are driving a Cadalac Escalade, BMW, Mercedes, Jaguar, while their employees are driving a rusted out 1989 Escort with a muffler held up by wire hangers and depending upon public assistance to feed their families. Meanwhile they have a nice big house with a pool and cleaning service. And so much more!

I've seen the owner or supervisor of this store and he is driving one of those new Chevy Tahoe's (2006 or 2007 model).

The store front pdls here in my area are paying $10.00 hr plus time half on Saturdays. I'm sure if they dug deep enough, there is alot of store front pdl employees that have stole money and just haven't been caught yet.

I've been taking the position that storefront lenders should be given first priority - after all they are the ones following the borrower's state laws and they're holding a post-dated check. But after reading brownsugar's story, I'm wondering if I'm not giving them a little too much credit.

The same thing happened to Kyside38, I know her state shut that one down. It is scary to think that you are paying these people back and to find out they are stealing the money and calling you with the threats of jail!

Kyside38 . . . you can do worse than to listen to Steelers1. I do what I do because it's how I feed myself and my kids (5 last time I counted . . . but I keep hearing these pesky rumors . . . ).

Steelers does it because it's the right thing to do. Period. I can walk away from the whole pdl scene anytime I want. I made a good living representing lenders and there are plenty that would pay me well to keep my mouth shut today. But Steelers doesn't have that luxury, and you can count on her words in a way I wouldn't have the #$^&%* to ask you to accept mine.

And Dennis,
I appreciate that you made the decision to leave the darkside and come into the light! And Steelers, no, I don't think these storefront employees are driving anything in most cases, save for a big belching bus, or other forms of public transportation!
