So I finally settled with DollarQuick. I had paid them almost $800 towards an original $300 loan. I sent them the letter of settlement stating my laws and that I wanted my account marked in full. Not even a day later they emailed me an "account paid in full" letter. Today I got a nice email from them stating that since I was such a valued customer they were offering to lend me $500.
Hell no! I think I learned my lesson.

Good idea - I will start to work on that right away. Show them that I am a "valuable" customer!

I always like to send them a letter stating that now I am an informed consumer and I know they are ILLEGAL in my state. Funny I have never got a reply back from that one. KYSIDE38

You know, since I have gone through all this to get out of PDL H-E- Double Hocky sticks, it seems I have twice as many PDL offers in my junk mail box on my yahoo account! In the past 2 weeks or so, I go home at night to check all my accounts (used yahoo for my pdl accounts and a few other things) and there have been over 200 emails in there and 90 percent are from PDL companies and other 10% are either mortgage things or offering me stuff to grow or enlarge a piece of anatomy that I don't have!

2nd - you could be quite the spectacle if you grew that piece of anatomy, by using those products...
I crack up when I get those too. How many men do you know that are named sharon?

Awww manuelrenzo--now that is too kind. You were such a good customer that they want you to come back? What a joke---I am glad thought that you didn't have to go through too much to get a PIF letter.

What did your letter say? I've sent them a letter and got the following response:
| Quote: | We most certainly did not solicit any business from or with you. On the contrary your name was furnished to us by a third party with whom you had made contact over the internet as being a person who required a short-term loan. It was only because of this approach by you that we, in turn, responded to your request for a loan.
It is clear from the terms of our agreement with, and signed and accept by, you that the matter of your loan is not governed by Mississippi law. We adhere to our claim that our transaction is governed by the law of the place where our company resides which is not Mississippi. Because we are satisfied that our claim in this regard is correct, we agree with you that there is no Federal case law that refutes our claim. If we are correct, as we maintain, why should any case refute us?
Nevertheless, and without derogating from what we have said, we would be prepared for the sake of peace to settle this case on the terms suggested by you with the following proviso. If any payment is not paid by you on or before the due date, the full balance in fact owing by you will immediately become due and payable and we shall pursue all legal steps available to us to recover it.
Sincerely,
DOLLAR QUICK CUSTOMER SUPPORT |
This is not true, I applied directly with them on dollarquick.com not a third party. Since getting this from them I have sent two more emails and not gotten a response. What should I do?
