[b]I saw where a question was asked concerning harrassment. The advice was to find out their state law to see if they could legally record the conversations.....so I spent sometime and have found a few links that give a state to state link concerning these laws....hope it helps! I originally posted in another forum but it occured to me that it may also be off some help here also!

They are a view different web sites that I found that list laws by all 50 states concerning your right to record your phone calls. For instance if you are getting threatening phone calls from CA's....these links help you understand how to record these threats legally in your state. Thanks Moondanzer. People will find this information handy. Most debt collectors continue to make threatening calls on the consumers even after they are asked to stop calling. They don't care to follow the C&D rule. Besides, they sound rude and harassing when asked to validate the account in writing.

If their illegal threats are recorded, it will be a good case of fdcpa violation and the collectors have to compensate for the damages. There are few good attorneys whom we have on the board here.

n2deep, no one is giving you a loan because of your credit. Be careful of the companies who are willing to give you money on bad credit. They often turn out as scams. They will charge you upfront money and run away. In some cases, they ask for collateral before money is deposited into your account. This can sound risky if they are not legitimate.

Speak to one debt counselor about your bills. He will help you in working out a repayment plan with your creditors.

Thank you!!! I discovered by reading your links that it's legal in NY to inform the other party you are recording and you don't need their consent--if I read it correctly. So now I am going to use that the next time one of these low-lifes calls me yelling.
