Can someone please explain what a Notice Of Intent To Take Default is? I received notice I was being sued by a credit card company in November, never heard anything else until today when I get this in the mail. Never knew of a court date or anything...what does this mean? Please explain in detail, and what the next steps from here on out are. Thanks so much!! Desperate for advice!!

I have no idea what it means, I didn't think they gave notice if the judge is going to issue a default judgment, you don't show they win right then and there as far as I know.

Call the clerk of the courts and ask if a default judgment has been entered against you, if not ask if they have you on the docket some where. If you don't yet have a default judgment you want to make sure you show up in court if you do get a date.

It means that you must not have shown up for the court appearance, so the plantiff has a default judgment.
