I'll try again...what are the realistic chances $45000 in credit card debt, 15% or more of which is fees, etc, can be reduced by 60% or more if I contact companies. I am on disability preparing for heart surgery, 61 years old, etc.etc.etc Do not want to file bankruptcy, have no one to assist me. (am broke)

You should speak with someone concerning your situation, I am settling the debt I have myself but this does require you are able to build up enough funds to do this, may times these companies will not wait years and will send you to collections and possibly sue, thus if you don't have means to save up funds, speaking with an attorney may be a good option for you.
