I'm 50 thousand in credit card debt... what is the most sensible and safe way out.
Are these debt consolidations groups that promise you only have to pay back part of what you owe legitimate.

Welcome to the Community  Alot of people have used debt consolidation companies, with great success.
As Ladybug said, if you register for the free counseling, someone from your are will call and discuss what option may be best for you. There is also debt settlement, where they offer settlements to the companies for a percentage of what you owe.
We also have a DO IT YOURSELF section at the top of your screen, under the Ranking Chart tab. Is this all one bill, or several smaller ones?
ICalled my cc companies, and they dropped the interest on the smaller ones so I could get them paid off sooner. Then, I took that payment, added it to the next smallest one and paid it off, and so on.
