Let's be clear. This site isn't a debt consolidation site. It's a forum where people can exchange information. The owner of the site collects information and sells 'leads' to debt settlement and consolidation companies that will then solicit your business. It's up to you to research the companies and decide which best fits your needs.

BTW - This isn't meant to be a negative. The owner is providing a valuable service by maintaining the forum. The sign up page clearly advises new members that they are opting in to be solicited and that a debt counselor will call them. If you don't want to do that, he even gives you the option of joining the community without agreeing to be solicited. So I'm not complaining - it's all above board. But it's important that anyone talking to a company they hear about on the board, or that calls them based on them signing up, is a separate company. Do as much research as you can before selecting a company.

I was about to log off when I remembered something. At one time Pollyandsay posted that Denny, the owner of the site, was starting a debt settlement law firm. If he did so and it's tied in with the site, then what I just said about how this site works is 100% incorrect and I apologize.

Do any of the moderators know if Dharma Chartered ever got off the ground?

"Dharma Chartered" has not got off the ground yet. When it does we will definitely make a public announcement.

Nothing to apologize for, James. If anything, I should apologize. I played with that post for half an hour before hitting the button to put it up and it still reads harsher than I ever meant it to. I was just trying to clarify but couldn't find the right tone.
