But I think we can get back, currently just a few days behind on payments, but late fees, and now rising credit card interest it hurting the cause.

In my opinion, you should immediately call your creditor and make them aware of your situation. They will be more willing to work with you right now before you get seriously past due on your payments. Remember, the interest rates are going to rise each day. So, you need to work out arrangements before you lose some of the good offers.

Welcome to the Community I would call the cc companies and ask them about their hardship program, they can drop or lower interest until you get caught up and the debt paid off.
I did this with one of my sons' cards, told them i wanted to pay it off, but with the interest, fees, etc., it was becoming difficult, and they dropped the interest, with a promised payment plan, and we paid it off..Good Luck-feel free to ask questions..Karen

I think that advice from johnson and bossy are right on the money (so to speak). You need to make the first call and let them know that you are having problems. Otherwise they may not be willing to work with you.
