Negotiating a civil judgement

A civil judgment was filed in 2002 by a collection agency on behalf of a bank. The amount of the judgment was originally for $2800. It currently is being reported to the credit bureaus at $3400. There has been no contact by the collection agency for over two years. Can a settlement of a judgment by negotiated down like other collection items? That is can I expect to get this settled with a lump sum pay off of >50 on the dollar?

Your going to have to converse with the company that you seek to work it out with.
