I have a judgement against that was filed by an attorney for capital one credit , when I called to settle they no longer had the debt and it had since been bought by Michael j Scott in Texas. I will mention the first attorney Frederick j Hanna is in Georgia where I was living at the time. I then moved to tx and I guess that's why micheal Scott got it. I have now moved back to Georgia. I paid the settlement to micheal Scott and they released the Lein to the court in TX (which I had no idea about). So now I don't know who I go to to get the release of lien for georgia since Frederick j Hanna does not have it anymore, but the Georgia court told me that would be who the release of lien would need to come from. I need to get this off my credit. HELP
Why don't you contact Frederick j Hanna once?

The item is not going to disappear from your credit just yet. It takes 7 years from the time the item was reported.
When I last contacted Frederick j Hanna they said they no longer had that debt, I will try and contact them again. one the judgement has been released in the court won't it show as paid on my credit report and help my score?

A paid judgment is not positive....it will do nothing to improve your credit score.

PDL's are ILLEGAL in the following states...
AR, AZ, CT, GA, ME, MD, MA, NJ, NY, NC, PA, VT AND DC
OH AND NH have very restrictive low cost interest rate laws.
SOL for all states

So do I need to worry with the lawyer if this wont affect my credit? Will this eventually be taken care of ? Overall I'm trying to get financing to buy a house so I need to know what I should do and how I can get my score up??
