Does anyone know of a company that does not require a set-up or retainer fee? We are always warned not to give these ds companies money upfront but the problem is...ALL OF THEM that I have found require this.

Excellent question nomoola. Honestly they all do charge some sort of set up fee. These companys do have overhead and thus is necessary. It is very important that you choose a company that has a great reputation. When shopping around with settlement companys be sure you look them up with the BBB to make sure they have a great track record. Also please make sure they are either members of TASC or USOBA. Here are the names of just a few reputable companys that do great work.

I actually just signed with New Beginnings...they seemed pretty reasonable.

Uh, no, I am not advertising. I just signed with them two days ago and have no results to advertise. You all can be a tad paranoid with this advertising crap. We are allowed to mention who we are with.
