Need some advice on how to deal with Storefront PDLS

I need some advice on how to deal with storefront pdls, please. I simply do not have the money to pay them back tomorrow (I have 2) after being hit with all of the fees from online pdls. I'm going to close my bank acct. and consolidate my internet pdls, but I am really anxious about having to go into a storefront pdl and ask to work something out. I guess since I've never had to do it, I'm expecting the worst.

Anyone who's been there, done that and lived to tell about it have any words of wisdom?

Tiffany, talk with your consolidation company and see if you can start another plan with them where you can include the storefronts. If this happens, you might place yourself in a comfortable situation.

Tiffany, why are you putting yourself so much under stress? You need to take care of your health first. Guess, you don't want to add new medical bills sometime later. icon_wink.gif

My suggestion will be to visit the company and talk with someone about this. You will know if there are any specific hardship programs for people undergoing financial problems.

Take a deep breath and call them right now! Tell them you want to make arrangements, and offer them the amounts you want to pay.
I did this with the one that I had, they weren't too happy but I paid half the next payday and the other half two weeks later...
I wouldn't let that go, they can and will sue you.

Hi Tiffany, be confident when you call your storefront lenders. If you don't inform them about your situation, things might take a negative turn and you may get some unexpected results. Don't want to mean anything wrong, but since you are already prepared for the worst, a phone call won't hurt. You never know about the good things coming in your way. Just call them and let us know the reaction of the lenders. I am keeping fingers crossed.

Thanks! I'll call after my boss has left....or do you think it's better to just go in person tomorrow and face the music?

I could really use something good coming my way. This is starting out to be one of the worst weeks ever! I just can't win for losing. I'm honestly surprised I haven't had a nervous breakdown yet. No wonder I can't sleep....as a lot of you know, these pdls are just all-consuming sometimes. I can't concentrate on work, can't sleep, don't have anybody to talk to or turn to for help. Thankfully I found this forum, so I guess one good thing has come my way in the past few months. icon_smile.gif

Tiffany-I'm with Andy,I think you should go in person. I have dealt with the same thing,I went down there and explained I wanted to take care of this matter,wasn't trying to duck out of it,and explained my situation. Fortunately,they worked with me,I was just sure I could and would stick with what we worked out.Good Luck icon_biggrin.gif ...Karen

Hi Tiffany, I can totally relate. I'm on the same boat and been going thru sleepless night as well. I've been trying to get help from some companies but still not getting any luck. Tomorrow, if I can't still get any answer from some of the Consolidation companies that I called, I will call all of my pdl store and explain them my situation. I also prepared a hardship letter for them. I am hoping that they will understand my situation.

Josh-when you joined didn't someone contact you in regards to the credit counseling? There are lots of people on this forum with pdls,who have used consolidation from suggestions made during the fredd credit counseling-good luck-keep us posted...Karen

I have signed up with a consolidation company, but didn't know that I could include my storefront pdl. I actually went into the store today and all they agreed to was to extend how long I had to pay them. I was told they couldn't hold my postdated check until I next get paid, they have rules that check has to be presented to bank within 14 days of loan due date. This lady said she'd hold off until Monday. She asked if there was anyone I could borrow the money from, pay this off, then go to another lender and get money from them... Said they couldn't do a payment arrangement, she'd get in trouble.

So, advice? I can probably try to scrape up the money by Monday, but then I'm not going to be able to meet other responsibilities. What a mess!

Thanks for the advice. The consolidation company hasn't taken their first payment out yet and I haven't received my paperwork to sign, so I guess there is still time to add another pdl on. Heck, what's one more to add to the mix? icon_surprised.gif
