How to Deal with Illegal Loans..OhioGal's Primer http://www.debtconsolidationcare.com...allenders.html PDL's are ILLEGAL in the following states...
AR, AZ, CT, GA, ME, MD, MA, NJ, NY, NC, PA, VT AND DC
OH AND NH have very restrictive low cost interest rate laws.
I called again this evening, they changed the offer to 70%, said that was the lowest they could go, 3 equal payments. I said I will pay in one lump sum, how much? CSR said 70%, I said thank you and hung up.
5 minutes later, another CSR called, not knowing I had just talked to one, said maybe they could go lower, but I would have to talk to a manager, supervisor couldn't approve anything lower. She said the two managers were out to lunch, for me to call back and ask for a manager to settle a debt less than 70%. I didn't call them back, I'll wait a day or so.
By signing up for counseling session, your provided details (Name, Email ID and Phone No.) will be forwarded to the company advertising on the DebtCC. However, you have no obligation to use their services.
Some creditors and collection agencies refuse to lower the pay off amount, interest rate, and fees owed by the consumer.
Creditors/collection agencies can make collection calls and file lawsuits against the consumers represented by the debt relief companies.
Debt relief services may have a negative impact on the consumer's creditworthiness and his overall debt amount may increase due to the accumulation of extra fees.
The amount which the consumer saves with the use of debt relief services can be regarded as taxable income.
