Hi guys!

Just looking for some words of advice.

I have about $12K in credit card debt. I am at the point now where I am pulling my hair out. My credit score is still good. . . I can make my minimum payments, but that is it! My interest rates have risen, and it is to the point where I can barely make my minimum payments. I cannot even pay more than the minimum now, so my balances are staying the same. I have read negative things about debt consolidation, so I am scared of getting in more over my head.

I don't know what to do. Will my credit card banks work with me to get a plan so I can pay them off, the entire amount, but at a lower payment each month????

HELP!

Call them. Explain your situation. If you have a good payment history there is no reason they won't work with you (maybe tell them you are thinking about transferring your balance to another card with lower rates). AND, You really DO have to watch which debt consolidation companies you deal with.

We were in the same boat as you. We were trying to make minimum payments and protect our credit. Then I heard something that changed the way I looked at it. I read where somewhere said that that was like watering your grass when your house is on fire.

We signed up with Sifxpert and have never looked back. James has been awesome. We are working on settling our debts. We have settled for thousands less and the emotional relief is enormous.

I don't know if debt settlement is for you. I would recommend that you do some research to see if it fits your situation.

I would do it all again tomorrow!

Drowning, you are right to be cautious on companies.

If you sign up, it's free, and sign up for the free counseling, they can give you some options for your debt, from which you are free to choose or not.

I have had credit card companies work with me in the past, lowering or droppin the interest so I could pay them off, but I was late on payments at the time.

Call and tell them your situation, and that you want to pay them off, but can't see how to do it, and ask them if they can help.

Feel free to ask questions, and good luck..KAren
