I also received this. How sneaky of Macys! I never liked the Macys card anyway and to have them upgrade a store card without your knowledge, signature and approval is just unacceptable.
Won't canceling now have a negative effect on your credit score? This is the only inquiry I currently have and am extremely angry. I will be applying for a mortgage this year and do not want anything to negatively impact. |

I've had Same problem with Macys
I asked them to cancel this extra card 6 months ago, and guess what,...they never did. I recently called them and insisted they cancel all credit cards with them, I urge you all to do the same. As consumers we need to take a stand against corporations who abuse our trust and requests.

Does anyone know how to go about having the card sent to you?? I noticed the same thing on my credit report with the VISDSNB and it has a credit line of $6,000. I never received the card and to make matters even stranger, I never had a Macy's card. I had a Stern's card back in 1997 and I guess maybe it was converted when Sterns was switched to Macy's. So, if I call them and ask for the Visa card, will they send it? I could use some credit right now

Visa Scam - Macy's and Bloomingdales
I just received an alert from Identify Theft that Macy's issued me a Visa that I did not apply for. There was no phone number on the report and if it wasn't for this site and a consumer writing in with the phone number, I never would have been able to call and cancel this Visa. Ph: 513.398.5221 I asked the customer rep why a Visa was issued to me when I did not want or even authorize them to check my credit report for approval of a Visa. They told me that in the paperwork they sent me when I applied for a Bloomingdales, that unless I checked the box which states that I do not want a Visa, they automatically issue one and are authorized to run a credit report on me. To me, this is a SCAM!! I told them they need to do the opposite, do not issue a Visa unless we check the box indicating we want the Visa. Who ever reads this information? It is clearly a trick to issue Visas to the consumer and many people are not happy about it.

Macy's & Bloomingdale Visa SCAM!!
Make sure that you request a letter written from Macy's indicating that the Visa account was closed. I also closed my Bloomingdale card because I refuse to be set up again on one of their scams! Who else are they feeding our private financial information to?

Macy's VISA/DSNB
Thanks for the info everyone. I just called the 1-866-593-2543 mentioned above and they cancelled the VISA card and said they would mail me a new Macy's card that would just be for the dept store. Also ask for a confirmation letter closing the Visa acct. When I asked if I would receive something in the mail, the response was yes, we can mail you a cancellation letter. Better safe than sorry if they are putting this on our credit reports.

Visa/dsnb is a visa card associated with a recent bloomingdales account - one card, two statements. It is a bloomy's card in store and a visa card out of store. Call 1-877-859-0259 to cancel if you would like to.
Visa/fdsb is macy's associated visa card. How rude that they do this!!!!!!!!!! |
