Does anyone know who this person, company or whatever is Walter Shefield? I listend to the voice mail and it says press one to speak to (someone). I do not like doing that, I donkt like this cloak and dagger crap.
I am behind on nothing, except a student loan in which I say it is paid off but Im sure there is someone out there who thinks other wise. Other than that, I am behind on nothing and owe NO ONE except normal monthly bills.
Please help!
UPDATE
I did a google and it came up a Elder law, estate, etc. Laywer. I had an old friend that I helped for 13 years and now this person is 85 but I could not deal with her anymore and I painful stopped seeing her. I kept telling her that I had a more than full time job 12 hours a day sometimes 7 days a week and I tried to see her on Sundays at least twice a month and that was not good enough for her. She was and mabye still is able to drive any where she wanted to go, and got around ok. I do miss her and hope she is ok. I wonder if that is what this is about?

Keep in mind that you cannot decide when a student loan is paid off. Until you receive a paid in full letter from the lender, servicer or guarantor, they will still continue to collect. If it was federal loan, they will continue collecting as fall as garnishing social security checks.
Googling a name isnt necessarily going to get you to the correct source. A collectors name isnt going to appear on google and there may be more than one Walter Shefield. Calling is the only was to find out for sure.

Luke, not to sound morbid, but have you talked to your 85 year old friend lately. Hmm...an attorney who handles elder car law...possible that your friend has passed away and they are trying to get in touch with you?

Thanks SoapLady. I know you are right but after over 25 years with dealing with this, I just cant do it anymore (if that is whos calling me). Im not sure what to do. Thank You.

I thought about that too, I do have the will she gave me, but I have not talk to her in months after she got mad at me and I got mad at her, not sure what is going on.
Please you all say a prayer for me and your help is very much appreciated.

Luke, call your friend. See if she's okay. If she hangs up on you, then you'll know where you stand. I'll bet if she answers, she would be glad to hear from you.
