Got 2 credit cards.. 1 from Wellsfargo for 11000 (already sent to a collections agency). 2 from walmart for 1400 (already sent to a collections).
Trying to wipe these out before i start getting sued by these companies for the debt. Thats my first worry, second i just want to clear up my debt so i can start moving in the right direction. I used to the debt calculator to suggest to me which my best action to approach this. It had suggested to me Debt settlement.

Is it too late for this since both are already at collection agency?
And where do I start from here?

BTW just got a letter from the agency for wellsfargo, that i have 30 days to detest the ammount if that info helps at all.

If you have already hit collections, the damage is already done.

Paying these off are not going to clear your credit....they will continue to report as a paid collection.

Work on settling them. That is probably the best routem if you want to avoid being sued.

No....do not waste money on hiring someone to settle for you. Do your research and do it yourself. However...you need to have the $$ on hand if you are going to offer a settlement. You cannot ask for a settlement and then time to pay it.

You balances are small....although Wells might be difficult.
