For five years, when I moved into my house, I was harassed by all kinds of bill collectors because I inherited a number that belonged to someone who defaulted. It was aggravating, because they did not beleive that I did not know the person they were looking for. Eventually, it got so bad, I had to find out my rights, and threaten to sue. They stopped after that.

Collection agencies are scum bags. They rarely follow the law and they prey on people's ignorance. They do not care who they are talking to. My brother is the biggest dead beat, but some how he keeps getting credit card offers and taking them. My poor parents, they get these calls and have been getting them for 20 years!!

I know me personally, I would never talk to any one over the phone in this regard. If they really want something, they will sue me and have me served. Then, I will show up to court with my attorney and have them handle everything.

Get this book, and read it.. from what I am hearing, so many laws have been violated, that you can end up on top

Debtors Rights, by Gudrum Maria Nickel, Arrtoney at Law

I used this book numerous times.

These people are hounding me with several phone calls a day and asking for a person who does not & never has lived here. I've told them that several times. They asked for that person's number, but how can I know some unknown person's number? Still, they call, at 8 a.m. & again at 5 p.m. and 8 p.m. I do not know how I can get them to quit.

Send them a Cease & Desist letter, Certified Mail, return receipt Requested. If they call you again after you get back the green card, sue them and collect your $1,000. In the meantime, file a complaint with the FTC, the FCC, the Bureau of Consumer Affairs, your State Attorney General, etc.

They can only get away with it if you let them.

Out of curiosity I called the 214# and it was some kids cell phone in god knows what state. He said he's been getting all kinds of weird calls. I called back the 800# and left a message that I was returning a call.
So my question I guess is, has anyone else experienced this? Is this CA calling and routing the caller ID through other peoples phone numbers? Can they do that?
And who else does this CA represent because I can't think of who they would be at this point?

I'm also having problems with World Financial Network National Bank. They use very unethical practices if not illegal ones. I have filed a complaint with the FTC. Please, everyone who thinks their rights have been violated by this company, file a complaint too. They won't investigate until they have enough complaints. Don't let them get away with what they're doing!!

This is a legitimate company. Look it up, people. It only took a moment to find all kinds of info on them - including who they underwrite credit cards for.

I have an account with WFNNB through Dressbarn. I get the statments from Dressbarn and they ask me to make checks payable to WFNNB-Dressbarn. I don't ever mail in payments, I go into the store to pay (I also don't pay by check). There have been times when I didn't get statements because of a post office mess up, but I just go into the store and they can pull up my account. Once I forgot to make a payment on time and when I called WFNNB to see what I could do, they were very gracious. They waived the late fee and let me pay. I haven't had any problems with them.

The only thing I don't like is that they want your SSN if you don't have your account number. Better make sure you have it handy when you call!

File a complaint with the Department of Treasury/ Office of the Comptroller of the Currency. These bastards are a "national bank" and fall under DOT/OCC domain as well as FTC. File a complaint with the Ohio BBB as well since the company is HQ'd there. They violate FCDA/FCRA left and right. These agencies need to know about.

They actually need tosend bills first. You need to "look-up" this company. They are known for violating the FCRA. You were luck.

Everyone that has a credit card from the clothing store called "Avenue" should look at the back of their statement near the bottom above where it says "New information." You will find that Avenue is somehow connected with WFNNB.
