NOW all of a sudden I receive an e-mail stating it is overdue!!?? I have called WFNNB a couple of times to explain. The first time she refused to give me her first name to record who I spoke with and the second time the supervisor hung up on me! UNBELIEVABLE! I will NEVER charge another item for any store that does business through this bank! I called Newport News and they said that I must deal with the bank...they could not help me! HELLO>>>>don't they contract with them to handle the payments??? If they are treating THEIR customers this bad shouldn't Newport News be concerned???? Give me strength! And our country wonders WHY the economy is in the toilet!
We had a similar problem. We didn't receive an electronic statement but the paper statement had been cut off. They tried to charge late fees and, quite frankly, could not have cared less about the problem, much less apologize for their mistake. Go figure.

Sub: Brownstone Account
Replied on 03-25-2010, 08:09 AM

I was informed last week that Brownstone is listed on my credit report from last year that I had a late charge and that I should request it be taken off. I knew nothing about this. I was in a car accident in December and was off for 7 weeks, that last four in which I had no income as I had been placed on leave of absence. I am playing catch up now and want late charges removed. How do I do this?

Hello, I have a qustion?. I am military, last July I purchased a dress from LewMagram. I did not like it so I returned it within 3 weeks. No bill at the time. I leave and am not at old adress nor number. I assumed no bill because I returned the dress within 3 weeks of receiving it. I get a call at my parents house this past 31 March 2010. I called and I am told that even though, I returned it, they have no priif that I did and that it is too late to do anything. I have to pay the full amount. I don't mind paying for dress, even though I returned it, but the fee's are 4 times the amount of item. what is my next option. Help is appreciated.

Hey, I just found these guys on my credit report that I'm working so hard on.
They've dinged by credit, simply by checking it. They've done this without
our permission, and we've never even heard of them, so frankly this is a little
scary. I don't know if this is some fraudulent thing or not....
if you know of anything, I'm interested. From what I just read from you thread,
it sounds like I might have reason to find out what's going on...
Thanks

I had someone steal and use my social, and the first thing I was told when I filed a police report is no one should ever ask you for your full social security over the phone. They may ask you for the last four digits for verification, but even then, if you are not comfortable with that you can do other verification methods.

I reported them to the Better Business Bureau. They are the bank for The Company Store, an online mail-order business. They claimed they sent me electronic invoicies (I didn't), and a myriad of other lies after my account went into collections because their bank would not accept my Chase electronic payment. It's a long story, but the bottom line is that I was trying to send them money, not refusing to pay, and the ineptitude and downright stupidity of their incompetant customer service people caused my credit rating to be damaged. I sent them $150 as opposed to a $14 minimum, then no invoices for two months, so I figured it was because I sent so much money the first time, then I get a call saying my account is 60 days past due. I asked why didn't you call me to let me know 30 days ago? Where are my invoices? No answer. I'm on the verge of a class-action lawsuit against these people.

Report them to the Better Business Bureau like I did. They are a poorly-run and from what I gather, shady operation that harasses people and provides crap customer service. Here is their email address: info@columbus-ohbbb.org I strongly urge anyone who has had a problem with this bank to write to the BBB and complain like I did. They filed my complaint and I'm waiting to hear back. I'll keep you posted.

Same thing happened to me. I reported them to the Better Business Bureau. They are thieves. I think we should file a class-action law suit against them. And I'm not kidding.

I just looked up the World Financial Network National Bank's rating by the Better Business Bureau, with whom I filed a complaint. Here is their rating for this bank, and this is taken directly from their website: Based on BBB files, World Financial Capital Bank has a BBB Rating of A+ on a scale from A+ to F. That explains a lot. I can see how far my complaint is going to get me. I swear to God I'm ready to sue.

Sub: Beware of third party charges
Replied on 06-21-2010, 11:10 AM

So get this. I have not had a bill since I paid off my account in January. But heres the thing, SOMEHOW, I was signed up for some kind of third party service which was charged in March. No-one can tell me how this charge got on my account. The bank refuses to do a fraud investigation because they have an agreement with this service that they will not question their charges ON ANYONES ACCOUNT. So, this third party can charge ANYONE without the company filing fraud against them. How convenient is that. Then, because I know I have not charged anything on the account, I have not been looking for any ebill from them. I get 60-100 emails /day so unless I'm looking some things are immediately deleted. So. I don't see a bill for Three months. Now I have three months of Late payment fees on a charge I did not authorize!!!!. The bank refuses to do anything about it saying its not their fault. The third party payer won't do anything because they already got their money.
STAY AWAY FROM THIS BANK. FRAUD, FRAUD, FRAUD.

This is the regulations, If your account has been noted as an uncollectable account in the
state of NC, then no offer can be made by the collection company. What ever the person who owns the account offers is what they have to accept as offer in full. The account has to be marked settlement offer and zero balance owed on your credit report, New federal law for NC residents. Also, if the account is not reported after two years and reinstated on your report, by the same term of the law the account has to be deleted if it is also an uncollectable account....
