Default World Financial Network National Bank hounding me for months

I received a call a little while ago from an "Investigator Stevens (?)" of World Financial Network National Bank. He did not identify the company he was calling from but the call came into my home and my cell from a 214#. I let the call go to voicemail and he left a message with an 800#. Out of curiosity I called the 214# and it was some kids cell phone in god knows what state. He said he's been getting all kinds of weird calls. I called back the 800# and left a message that I was returning a call.
So my question I guess is, has anyone else experienced this? Is this CA calling and routing the caller ID through other peoples phone numbers? Can they do that?
And who else does this CA represent because I can't think of who they would be at this point?

Default world financial network bank is it right?

Jeez!! This doesn't sound right.

I will call world financial network bank and make them validate the debt. If they are a collection agency, they have to follow the federal laws. Be aware, the internal collections dept of the original creditor doesn't come under the fdcpa laws. I know this is true, but someone will double check it.

You will have to confirm if the person calling you is from an outside collection agency or it is the internal collections dept of wfnnb

Default world financial network bank - stolen nos.

Have you ever seen a case where the calls come in from an invalid or stolen phone number? That's what gets me. From what I read they are easy to deal with, but this seems real shady. World Financial Network National Bank calling from stolen numbers

Default world financial network bank calling from stolen number? How

When you called World Financial Network National Bank, you heard the kid at the other end. How can this be lost or stolen number? The kid's parents must be unaware about what's going on and paying high phone bills.

Yeah I actually talked to the kid of World Financial Network National Bank. I asked him if he was getting weird calls and he was like yeah the phone rings all the time with all these numbers I don't know. He said "I'm sorry I didn't call you".

I think you should call once more and say "Your number is illegally used and your parents are paying high bills because of this. Just let them know to change the phone number"

You'll help another person out of their debts.

Default world financial network bank crap

Stockholder what's with the sarcasm. You are an idiot. If your such a hot shot why are you on a debt consolidation website? He acknowledged his mess up, but for a company to use shady practices is illegal. World Financial Network National Bank is crap and it is very noticeable if you just type in the name on google. All you will see is a list of complaints. I never asked for credit with them and they had no problem giving me an account with a negative credit entry within the first 20 days the account was open. Illegal practices led to approving credit by fraudulent approvals.

Default Resolving With WFNNB

So with not being able to call World Financial Network National Bank, how the frick are you supposed to resolved outstanding issues. I am a statistic and quit paying due to some hardships. They kept calling, of course. I explained that my place of business burned and there were several other reasons. I had OUTSTANDING credit. Now I want to resolve this as I'm at a place where I can, finally. But I can't find a contact number and I should have kept at least one of my statements I suppose, but I didn't. They've not called or sent me a bill or letter in over a year. Yeah that long. Anyone know how to contact them?

You can google the internet for a phone number or try pulling your credit report. Ususally that will list the creditor and their contact information.

Default World Financial Network National Bank a/c

I do not have an account with World Financial Network National Bank but they have been hounding me for several months because who ever did open a credit card account with them had the cell number before me....I have repeatedly told them, I dont know the person, I dont know where they are, It is not their phone number, not to call me, I have told them they are harassing me ...calling several times a day... and they just keep calling . I file complaints every time they call - doesnt seem to do much. They train their people very well - so I just play games with them now... I recognize ALL the numbers they use. I keep a log. I talk very loudly at them, I dont use profanity but I wont let them get a word in... I just go on and on and on... until they hang up. Several times I have then called them back repeatedly during the day just to "chat" - turn around is fair play. They are an incredibly unprofessional and unscrupulous company.

nancyjo ,Log down how many times a day they called , what time of day they called and the name of the person who called . Also write down the general conversation . If you keep good records you can likely sue them for harassment.

Default Bogus Insurance Premiums

No problems with calls, just that I was unknowingly being charged an "insurance premium" I did not elect. It was roughly 1/2 the amt of my payment without my consent. Read your statements carefully.

Default world financial network bank spoofing

there is an incredible amount of misinformation in this thread and I wanted to touch on a couple of things.

first, for anyone who believed NJ attorney, google the 214 area code. its Dallas, TX. not Ohio.

second, phone number spoofing (yes that's the real term) is easy and I used to do it all the time to mess with my friends. it does not run up anyone's phone bill except for the actual phone you call from. so if I call my friend scott from my phone, but spoof the number to make it look like I'm calling from his ex's - karen - number, he will think it is her calling, but all charges will apply to my phone and my account. hilarity ensues.

however in this situation hilarity is not ensuing, and what they are doing violates some federal law, im certain.
