Yes this is. The person that I have been calling has stated that they will send to Garnishment by the end of this week and while I am out of work, they may file a civil lawsuit because I am out of work and will not be receiving pay. How do I get them to move on the amount? I am going to mention Reasonable and Fair and if not reach out to Omsbudman..is that correct?

In your case, the Ombudsman is called for. For starters student loans rarely file civil suits...generally it is only done on balance over $100k and for people who are self employed and refusing to pay. GC services cannot file any legal action as they are not capable or authorized. They are not lawyers.

Thank you for your honest help. One more question. Is there a reason they refuse to put the agreement in writing. I am leary about what they are "promising" but will not follow up with it in writing. Also, I want to record the conversation the next time I speak with them about the rehab program. I have been in one before and they stopped collecting in the 7th month. I was never late and unemployed. They said that the dept of edu said it wasn't enough. All I want to do is pay. In addition, I offered to send voluntary payments of around $200/per month and the CA told me I was better keeping my money b/c it won't do anything.
