I wish I could help, Luke, but I paid off my student loans years ago, and I don't know much about how they work. Maybe you could try calling the CA and telling them that you thought it was paid off, and see what they say?

Luke....you really dont have much choice than to communicate with the CA. They will be able to tell you how much the DOE paid on the claim and when. Some of the records prior to the DOE taking over the loan should be available but they take time. It would probably be faster for you to contact your previous guarantors (not the CA's) for any payment historys.

Ok and thank you alias1958 and SoaoLady. The last Guarantors where IDAPP in southern IL, but Soaplady, if things donkt work out well for me, do you think that I will qualify for a repayment plan of which I read here all the time?
