What about a student loan owed for about 18 years?

I have one more question. Is thee an SOL on a lease purchase that was turned back in. I have been paying them faithfully. However, I feel we were ripped off by still having to pay for something that was given back.

Guest-I assume you are talking about an auto lease? Are you still paying on it due to mileage overages?

I had a small student loan that I had forgotten about . It was for 850.00 and after 20plus years they sent me a notice to pay.

Have you made any payments on it?? Did you have tax returns seized? By my calculations, with collection fees if no payments were made it would now be somewhere inthe region of $5000 based on an 8% interest rate.

The original loan was for 850.00 and I paid god knows what to finally clear it. Some tax returns were applied against it also. It was abot 10 years ago so I dont remember the exact amount it wound up being, but it was no where near 5000, maybe about 3000. Honestly do not remember. All I do remember is that payments were sent to someplace in Texas.
