i have a lot of student loan debt and want to consolidate. however, i'm sure that because it is a private loan they're going to run my credit. do you know what is the lowest score i can have to consolidate?
Right now times are tough to consolidate. Is it private or federal? Federal is easier. Right now for private loans I would say 680-700 would be the lowest but that is a guess. They are really cracking down on private consolidation loans.
Dont think anyone is doing much of any private consolidations right now...if you are wondering about lowest score, you wont qualify....those with 700 plus scores are being turned down.

Some creditors and collection agencies refuse to lower the pay off amount, interest rate, and fees owed by the consumer.
Creditors/collection agencies can make collection calls and file lawsuits against the consumers represented by the debt relief companies.
Debt relief services may have a negative impact on the consumer's creditworthiness and his overall debt amount may increase due to the accumulation of extra fees.
The amount which the consumer saves with the use of debt relief services can be regarded as taxable income.
