After not being able to have my checking account for almost 2 years because of the mess the PDL's put me through my bank has opened a New Checking Account for me as of today!!!!!! I went to talk to them on Monday and signed up for their "second chance" checking account-I even had to write on the paper why I feel I should be allowed to have another checking account. I told them how I had a nervous breakdown and got in the pdl cycle back then and how I will never ever do business with a pdl again and today I checked my back account online and lo and behold there was a direct deposit checking account opened for me!!!! Woohoo!!!! Happy Camper here doing Happy Dance!!!! I apologize if this is in the wrong place, I'm just so darn excited!! And I am so glad I found you all here because I learned quite a bit! I even re-did my loan I have with my bank/credit union that I now pay every 2 weeks and the little extra goes to the principle so that will be paid off sooner also!!!! Thank you all again for every day that you help people!!!!!

Almost childish how they made you write a mini essay but hey! It would suck not to have a checking account! Good for you!

I know-I thought it was odd too, but I really missed my checking account and I love my credit union so I put a little note on it stating what happened and why I should have a checking account. And NO ONE will ever have permission to just take out of it ever again! Have a great day all!

Enjoy this taste of happiness. I can imagine how happy you are with your words. Just be cautious in the future so that you don't have any overdrafts or fees in this new account. Maintain it properly.

The only time my checking account was ever overdrawn was when I got involved with pdls. Thank you very much for your advice. Have a great weekend all!

Even though they made you write why you should have a checking account, it's great news that you got another one. PDL"S are a horrible trap to be into and I'm glad that you are having some success  You also had a chance to reaffirm to yourself that you don't want another pdl!!
