Ok so I am beyond thrilled right now!! After 2 1/2 years of dealing with Cash Call, and paying them 216 a month on a 2600 dollar loan I am finally (almost) free!!!! I defaulted in January when I had to ckose my account due to a PDL mess I was in. Well I decided to hold out on giving CC my newbanking info. They did call me (about a million times) but today they sent me a settlement for $1000 lump sum of 6 payment of 202.00. I know I have paid them over 5k on a loan for half that amount but I am trying get better about my financial obligations, and cleaning up my credit report. Getting them off my back will be a HUGE relief!! I jsut wanted to share this with you all!! This place has been SOOO much help to me over the last few months!!! Thank you all for your advice!

Cash Call just had to make a pay a huge settlement. They were sued for loan shark tactics and for not being compliant in there collections.
The article was in the LA times. Aug 26, 2009.

It is nice they are not getting away with it anymore.

That's GREAT news about CashCall--and about freakin' time! I'm going to go to the LA Times website and see if the article's still there. Couldn't have happened to a nicer company, imho...
You know what's sad? My County's court website has a place where you can put in the names of businesses/individuals to see if they are involved in civil cases. You put in Cash Call and you get pages and pages of names.

I just wonder how long did you go with out paying them before they finally sent you that agreement to pay 6 payments.
Are you still paying by your cecking account or a different payment method

They mention LUMP SUM 1000.00 . 6 payments of 202.00. If its a lump sum, there should not be payments. The offer sounds a bit "nuts"
