I know it's not much but I was able to settle with Chase. I got $5100 down to $3600. I recieved the confirmation letter and sent my first payment. Only 3 more payments to go. I can deal with that and then move on to the other cards.

May I ask how long you were late in order to do such?, and did you contact chase for the offer, or was it Chase that contacted you. Thank you! Congrats.

I was late by about 3 months. After coming here and reading stories from other members I figured I'd give it a try. I contacted them a couple of times to plead my case. then after about a month I talk to the debt settlement dept. I made sure to talk to a supervisor. When I recieved the commitment letter in the mail I sent my first payment. I was sure to tell them that I would not send payment unless I got the commitment letter. Now I have three payments left.

It was about 3-4 months. They called a few times and I sent a little here and there in good faith. I finally talked to the debt settlement dept. I said that I would make the payments only after I recieved a commitment letter. I got the letter and made my first payment. Only three more to go.

Hi, I have posted my Chase settlement story twice over the past week becuase the first time it seemed to be overwritten by a different post " I got one down".
I posted it again, and well, it has been overwritten again. Can you please fix the posting so viewers can read the posting. Thanks so much.

Yes, I know that they stay on top in the order they are posted. What I meant was: that my post about " Chase is Settled" has the wrong information in the body of the post. It is showing up as if it is the other posts text " I got one down". My text is not showing up at all when you click on it. When you hover the curser over my link on the main page, you can see my text, but when you actually click on it to read, the other text appears.

Does this only work if you are late? I am asking because I have a a lot of debt but always pay on time. Do you think they would accept to settle with me?
